The Mom Behind It All
Hi! My name is Susi.
I am a toddler mom (x2), a stepmom, a wife and a formerly very overwhelmed new mom. Okay, who am I kidding? I’m still pretty overwhelmed most of the time.
I started My Village Closet to fulfill two unrelenting desires:
Open a business that helps people
Help other new (and seasoned) moms feel supported
My Village Closet is here to help moms with the everchanging seasons of motherhood. Especially those that demand so much from us that we put our needs on the back burner without a second thought.
I’ve been there—that moment when you put those sneakers you really like back on the shelf because you choose to buy the toddler sneakers instead. So now your son is strutting around in his new kicks while you’re still rocking the slip-ons you’ve been wearing since pregnancy.
I’m not salty. But I do still remember those Nikes.
Or, even more often, that moment when you talk yourself out of buying new clothes because you’re anticipating your body changing yet again. You debate whether it really makes sense to spend the money. In this economy? Oh wait, the baby needs that $45 box of diapers a few aisles over. So you put the outfit back, adjust the waistband on your trusty leggings and tell yourself you’re fine with what you already have. You’ll make it work until you can fit back into those clothes you have folded away in a corner of your closet.
BTW—Absolutely no shade to the trusty leggings and oversized t-shirts. They have seen and carried us through it all.
My Village Closet exists so that you don’t have to sacrifice your own sense of self and style in order to financially balance your needs with your family’s.
It exists to meet you at every different chapter of your story in a way that is affordable and makes sense.
Because yeah, those pants might not fit in a couple of months but that doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to feel good now. And at these prices? It’s a no brainer.
So come check us out at one of our events. Say hi, make a new mom friend, overshare a little bit and maybe pick up a few pieces that make you feel good.
I can’t wait to meet you!
Your New Mom Friend,
Susi
